Our Future
We envision a pastoral partnership with our next Rector, working together to better embody the church we believe Christ calls us to be. A community who visits each other in the hospital, at home and reach out in troubling times. A community who consoles each other when there is loss. We are looking for a Rector who embodies Jesus and leads us to embody Him as we grow together. We are looking for a Rector with an accessible heart so that by his/her leadership our hearts may be more accessible as well.
We see our future as Christ centered and community driven. As our building is open to more diverse groups through our rental program, we want to be an ally and light to anyone who comes in the doors. We are so blessed to be located in such a unique and wonderful city, and we hope to be everything Jesus wants us to be while we are here. We want to be a church known for our love. Even when it is difficult. Especially when it is difficult. We want to show God’s love to the people of Fitchburg in the smallest and biggest ways through our worship, liturgy and outreach.
The future of Christ Church is a bright one, and we are ready for a Rector to join us in our vision of showing the community God’s light in us.
Our Church Assessment Tool (CAT) showed that we are a clergy-focused church, which means it’s especially important we find a strong match for who we are as a parish. We hope our Rector will focus on:
willingness and availability to provide individual counsel with parishioners: pastoral visits in-person or by phone, spiritual counsel, sit and talk, listen, pray.
good communication and interpersonal skills: reaching out to all parishioners, listening, humble with an accessible heart
overall leadership in the life of the church: bringing people together, conflict resolution skills
ability to inspire: attract and draw in new people and rejuvenate regular attendees
