Our Ensembles
The Christ Church Choir is our flagship ensemble, tracing its history to the establishment of our choral program in 1893. Our Choral Scholars join twenty adult volunteer parishioners in rehearsing on Thursday evenings and singing every Sunday morning and for additional concerts and services throughout the program year, September-May. The Choir's repertoire is often challenging, extremely varied, and always fun! Several times each year, friends and family join our regular singers to form a Festival Choir. Anyone is welcome to audition for either of these groups by contacting Robert Potterton III, Minister of Music & the Arts.
Our Chorister Program for children in PreK-Grade 12 provides education and experience in musical skills, theory, history, and liturgy in an energetic and fun environment. Children gather on Sunday mornings and sing for services about once a month. Starting around Grade 4, Jr. Choristers become Probationers and work through the first level of the Royal School of Church Music Voice for Life curriculum, moving on to become Sr. Choristers and the next four levels.
Soloists and instrumentalists of all ages and skill levels are welcome to audition for participation throughout the program year. Our services frequently utilize piano/keyboard, guitar, percussion, etc. Please be in touch if you'd like to take part.
Guest Musicians
Frequently the musical forces of our own parish are supplemented by guest soloists and ensembles from across New England. These have included ensembles of all configurations and solo artists including multi-instrumentalist Dan Meyers, flautist Natalie Cardin, and harpists Ina Zdorovetchi and Lishan Tan. If you are interested in playing at Christ Church, please let us know
