The Rev. Laura Goodwin - Interim Rector

Pastor Laura returns to Christ Church, where she was Received in 1977 and served as a lay person in many capacities. She was sponsored for ordination by Christ Church and earned an MDiv. From Wycliffe College, Toronto, Ontario in 2007. She was ordained to the priesthood in December 2007 by The Rt. Rev. Gordon P. Scruton. Laura served as the Rector of Saint Andrew’s Church in North Grafton from 2008 until 2017. While at St Andrew’s, she facilitated the merger of Saint Andrew’s Church and Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Sutton to form Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.  Laura served as Priest-in-Charge and Rector of Holy Spirit from 2017 until she retired in June 2022.  Laura and her husband Todd live in Fitchburg and have two grown sons, Adam and Andrew. They enjoy hiking, kayaking and being grandparents to James.

Robert S. Potterton III - Minister of Music & The Arts

Robert has served Christ Church since 2015, overseeing an active music ministry including our historic choral program, a wide variety of instruments, and an eclectic range of styles. A Connecticut native, he holds degrees from Houghton College (B.Mus. Composition & Organ Performance) and Boston University (M.S.M. Organ Performance; S.T.M. Liturgical Studies) with additional studies through the University of Notre Dame's STEP program, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and Harvard Divinity School. A church musician for nearly 25 years, he previously served eight other congregations across five denominations in three states, and has worked extensively as a composer/arranger, conductor, and educator. Robert resides in Spencer with his wife, Carissa, and children, Adam and Kimberly.

Jordan Jones (they/she) - Choral Fellow

Jordan is a Massachusetts-based vocalist, arranger, conductor, and educator. Throughout their career, they have worked across the musical spectrum from classical and musical theatre to pop punk and R&B. Performance highlights to date include competing at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella at Berklee College of Music, singing with the Sarteano Chamber Choral Conducting Workshop in Sarteano, Italy, and membership with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Studies from UMass Lowell, where they are currently completing a Master of Music degree in Music Education.

April Rosello - Choral Scholar

April is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, focusing on communications media and theater, at Fitchburg State University. She sang in choirs at Lunenburg middle/high and Gardner high schools with many opportunities to sing solos and duets. April is looking forward to learning how to perform more effectively within a group of people, and will be singing more traditional repertoire as well as some contemporary worship music as part of the Christ Church Choir.


Sarah Ku - Organ Scholar

Sarah is an 11th-grade student at Groton School, studying organ under Dan Moriarty. She was previously an organ music scholar at Clifton College in Bristol, UK. Sarah achieved Grade 8 distinction through the ABRSM exam at a young age, later coming in second place in the 2020 St Edmundsbury Cathedral Virtual Competition, the 2023 North Carolina Salem College high school competition, and the 26th Annual Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival (high school division). At Groton, she frequently accompanies and sings with the choir and plays for Groton chamber ensembles. Last summer, she attended the Curtis Summer Organ Intensive Program, where she had the opportunity to receive masterclasses from Peter Conte and Alan Morrison.
