Meet Our Leadership
The Rev. Bennett G. Jones II
Bennett Jones has been ordained since 1986. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Bowling Green State University ('82) with an emphasis in Interpersonal and Public Communication, and a Masters in Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary ('86). In addition to his extensive experience in parish ministry, Bennett was elected C-1 Deputy to General Convention (N. Indiana '06 & '09); the Standing Committee of Northern Indiana from 2003-2009 on which he served as President from 2006-2009; and the Standing Committee of Western MA from 2012-2015. In Northern Indiana he taught homiletics as part of that diocese's School of Theology. He has consulted Vestries and/or been a guest speaker on subjects including stewardship, conflict management and leadership. He is married to the Rev. Carolyn G. Jones and has two grown sons.
The Rev. Carolyn G. Jones
Associate Rector for Family Ministry
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History & Government at Beaver College (PA) and working in the finance industry, Carolyn completed her Master of Divinity degree at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA ('85), and postgraduate studies in moral theology at Weston School of Theology. She previously served as Director of Christian Education at St. James Church, Manhattan, Canon for Education and Administration at Christ Church Cathedral, St. Louis, Associate Rector at All Saints, Beverly Hills, and taught ethics at Purdue University, Calumet. At CCF, Carolyn assists her husband, The Rev. Bennett G. Jones II, coordinates the Family Ministry program, liturgy, and directs the Praise Band and Children's Choir.
Robert S. Potterton III
Organist & Choirmaster
A native of Connecticut, Robert holds degrees from Houghton College (B.Mus. Composition & Organ Performance) and Boston University (M.S.M. Organ Performance; S.T.M. Liturgical Studies). His principal teachers include Mark Hijleh, Sun Mi Ro, Judy Congdon, and Peter Sykes. He previously served congregations in three states across five denominations, including seven years as Director of Worship & Arts at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Dedham, MA and as a member of the Worship commission for the New England District LCMS. He has contributed original music to independent films, local television, and recording projects for clients around the world. At CCF since 2015, Robert is responsible for selecting hymns and liturgical music, playing the organ and piano (and occasionally drums), and directing the Adult and Youth Choirs.
